• THE TRUE GENTLEMAN

The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who is himself humbled if necessity compels him to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed follows his word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others, rather than his own; and who appears well in any company, a man with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe.

Founded in 1856, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity is North America's largest social fraternity. Over the past 156 years Sigma Alpha Epsilon has initiated over 290,000 members, which makes us the largest fraternity in the world.

The endeavors of Louisiana Rho involve the development of individuals into virtuous and multifaceted leaders...the leaders of tomorrow.  We seek leaders with the merits of honesty, loyalty, generosity, insight, and responsibility; individuals who look to better themselves as well as their community.  The chapter strives to cultivate a brotherhood in which commitment and involvement are part of an intimate camaraderic comprising academics, athletics, leadership, community support, and moral decency.  Within Louisiana Rho, we strive to create the complete True Southern Gentlemen.

Texas Chi is a young chapter of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity that was chartered on February 22nd, 2003. Located at the University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Chi represents all facets of The True Gentleman and continues the tradition of Loyalty, Friendship, Honor, and Fraternity in our daily lives.

In seven years we have grown to over 55 members with over 200 alumni for our chapter alone. We have put on philanthropy events, like Rock the Campus for the Cure, to raise money for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Our brothers are involved in all campus life including tutoring, Student Government, ultimate frisbee, Interfraternity Council, Orentation Team Mentors, as well as many other organizations. Sigma Alpha Epsilon is the only fraternity at UT Dallas to have never been on probation. Our brothers are also involved in many community activities outside of campus.

Texas Chi was awarded a Chapter Achievement Award, Runner-Up for Pledge Education, and Honorable Mention for Most Improved Chapter from Sigma Alpha Epsilon, we also recieved the Outstanding Member Education Program, Outstanding Scholarship, as well as the Outstanding Service/Philanthropy Award from UT Dallas Greek Life. Many of our brothers are on scholarship at UT Dallas.
